About me:

Since my dad gave me my first camera in the late 1970s, a Praktica SLR, I've loved photography and its incredible ability to capture a moment at the press of a button. Although I began my working life as a teacher, I maintained my interest in photography and in 2006 I decided to leave teaching and gain my qualifications in photography. Thirty years after being given that old Praktica I set up Paul Edward Photography here in Brighton & Hove.
I specialise in wedding photography as well as architectural & interiors, although I often branch into other areas such as events. Unable to leave teaching entirely, I also teach photography and run courses from time to time. Take a look at 'Workshops' to find out when the next one is.
I prefer to work with available, natural light, especially at weddings where I feel that a flash can interfere with proceedings and be a distraction. Equally with portraits I like to work outside at a favourite spot, a park or the beach perhaps; even natural light from a window at home can create a lovely light.
